Welcome to Sour Cream Society, a personal blog that aims to highlight the sour, the cream, and the society through words.
The blog name came from my column title on the University paper I used to write for. I was browsing a dictionary at the time (yes, back then we used dictionaries to search for meanings, synonyms, and antonyms of words), and I wanted a blog name with SEN- on it but I found nothing meaningful and relevant to me. I came across the word “sour cream” which, as I remember, means something sweet covered with artificial sourness. Just like what is happening to our society and my country. The Philippines is a rich country in terms of natural resources, but its people are suffering.
I hope to use this blog to explore the sour and cream of our society and to find ways to make it more sour cream-like. I want to write about the things that make us laugh, cry, think, and feel. I want to write about the things that make us proud and the things that make us ashamed. I want to write about the things that make us hopeful and the things that make us scared.
I hope you’ll join me on this journey. I hope you’ll laugh with me, cry with me, think with me, and feel with me. I hope you’ll help me make our society a little bit more sour cream-like.
Thank you for your interest!✨
